W365 Deploy#

Windows 365 ยท v2.0.3

W365 Deploy sets up Windows 365 Enterprise in your own tenant: the users group, user settings, a provisioning policy on the Microsoft-hosted network, an Intune device group for the Cloud PCs and, if you want, group licensing. It runs in your browser at deploy.andykemp.com/w365: you install nothing and run no scripts, every change is made with your own sign-in, and you don't need an Azure subscription.

How it works#

  1. Connect. Sign in with a work account and consent to the W365 Deploy app reading your directory and Windows 365. Provisioning policies you already have are listed with the groups they're assigned to.
  2. Design. Five short pages: Cloud PCs, network, names, access and user settings. See Design and deploy.
  3. Review. Your roles, licences, the gallery image and anything already in the tenant are checked, read-only, and you see exactly what Deploy creates.
  4. Deploy. It asks for the write permissions the design needs, for that browser tab only, then creates and assigns everything in about a minute.
  5. Provisioning. Windows 365 makes a Cloud PC for each licensed person in the users group. Each takes up to about an hour.

Run it once per persona or department: each run is one provisioning policy, assigned to one group.

What it creates#

Item Notes
Users group W365 - <name> - Users by default, with you as owner, or a group you already have. Add people to it after Deploy.
User settings W365 - <name> - User settings: local admin off, restore points every 12 hours, users can restore their own Cloud PC. Assigned to the users group.
Provisioning policy W365 - <name>: Entra joined, Microsoft-hosted network in your geography, the newest supported Windows 11 gallery image, your language, single sign-on and a naming template. Assigned to the users group.
Device group (optional) W365 - <name> - Cloud PCs, a dynamic group of this policy's Cloud PCs, to target Intune apps and policies.
Group licence (optional) A Windows 365 Enterprise licence assigned to the users group, so everyone in it gets one.

Anything with the same name that already exists is kept as it is. Nothing is created in Azure.
