Troubleshooting#

A role "isn't active for you"#

Review needs Windows 365 Administrator (or Intune Administrator), and Groups Administrator or License Administrator if the design creates groups or licenses the group. If you have the role through PIM, activate it, then choose Check again.

No geographies are listed#

The geography list comes from Windows 365. If it's empty or fails, check your tenant has Windows 365 Enterprise licences and that you consented to the app reading Windows 365, then reload.

"No Windows 365 Enterprise licences yet"#

The policy can be set up without them, but Windows 365 only makes a Cloud PC for someone in the users group who has one. Buy or assign licences in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Group licensing doesn't license some people#

Entra can't assign a licence to a user with no usage location. Set it on their account, or check the group's licence errors in Entra admin center > Groups > (the group) > Licenses.

A Cloud PC doesn't appear#

  • Check the person is in the users group and has a Windows 365 Enterprise licence and Intune.
  • Look at Intune admin center > Devices > Windows 365 > All Cloud PCs for its status; provisioning takes up to about an hour.
  • If you chose a specific region, it may be short of capacity. Automatic lets Windows 365 use another region in the geography.

The device group stays empty#

Cloud PCs join it as they enrol in Intune. With the policy rule, they enrol with the policy's name; if you renamed the policy after they were made, update the rule. Dynamic groups need Entra ID P1.

An existing policy "differs from this design"#

W365 Deploy never changes a policy that already exists. Change it in Intune, or give your design a different name.

"This page is out of date"#

W365 Deploy has been updated since the tab was opened. Reload the page (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R). Your design is kept.
