What's new#
AKC AUP 1.0 is out, labelled beta. The version is on the splash screen and in Help, About, and AKC AUP offers each update when it starts (or Tools, Check for updates).
v1.0.1 (beta)#
The first release:
- Set up this tenant: a Cloud Application Administrator creates AKC AUP's own app registration in your tenant, with delegated permissions only
- Least privilege: deploy with Conditional Access Administrator; Security Reader opens read-only
- Check the tenant: Entra ID P1, your role, existing Terms of Use (and the limit of 40), policies already requiring terms, and your break-glass group found for you
- Three models: a member AUP and separate guest terms, members only with guests left out, or one AUP for everyone
- Documents and acceptance: a PDF for each, checked before upload; open before accepting, per-device, and accept again every year by default
- Who it applies to: all members or chosen groups, every guest type, extra exclusions, your own policy numbering
- Review and deploy: every value first; each policy report-only unless you switch it on; break-glass always left out; no duplicate names
- Change a deployment: read back from Entra, change policies and the terms' name or expand setting in place, with the changes listed first
- Roll back: straight after deploying, or later from a record
- Deployment records: HTML and JSON in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\AKC\AUP\Records, for your audit file
Still to come: an acceptance report, and extra terms for specific apps or partner organisations.
